Snow Day

Hello everyone! You may have noticed that I haven't blogged for some time. Well, I took a blog break so I could concentrate on getting my Christmas orders made plus we were snowed in for 5 days before Christmas and I spent lots of time with my girls, it's been lovely, but I guess now I need to get off my butt and get to work again. My making has slowed down a tad over the festive period but I've had a few orders to keep me busy and I've been working on lots of new things, so watch this space. In the meantime, we are snowed in again, it's day 2 and the girls are sick of it too. They are very reluctant to go out in it so yesterday we watched 3 movies on the sofa under a duvet and today they've made a different kind of snowman, one that doesn't involve getting cold and wet..................................I've seen these on the family craft sites and decided we should give it a go too.
All we needed were some large white marshmallows, silver balls and some sprinkles and we were well away. I made up some white icing to use as 'glue' to stick the marshmallows together and stick their 'buttons' etc. onto them. Being snowed in we didn't have all the right ingredients to hand but they tasted great nonetheless.
We used dried spaghetti for the arms but you could use pretzels, chocolate matchmakers (yum). I've seen orange tic tacs used as noses before which looks fab and instead of white icing glue you could try melted chocolate. Now for the fun bit...........scoff scoff!

Enjoy the snow!

Those snowmen look great!
We are snowed in again too and the novelty has definitely worn off! Plenty of time to get crafting though, working on commissions and coming up with new products for Valentine's Day.
Keep warm, Claire x

Joseph likes the middle one best, it looks like you have used chocolate flakes (but could be cloves). The one on the left looks angry and the one on the right looks surprised. LOL xxxx.

Thanks everyone :o)

Joseph has good taste - I made that one! G made the left one, M made the right one. They made a couple more too but at that stage they were more interested in spooning the icing straight into their mouths!

p.s. we used choc flakes!
