New swaps sent

As a member of a flickr group, The Handmade co., I've been part of a couple of recent swaps. The deadline to send them is 31 May, so I got mine off just in time!
Firstly we had a Whimsy Jar swap, I've posted off a jar of red and green goodies to Wen_ot, hope she likes them.
My second swap this month was a bit of a challenge for me. Again part of the Handmade co. group we had a reading swap where we were to make something book related, be it a book cover or bookmark etc. Being a sewing machine phobic I wasn't sure how I was going to tackle this, but I did try really hard, even though the results are not that spectacular! I used a soft blue polka dot linen fabric, lined with red felt with a touch of red and white floral fabric and a smattering of red heart buttons. The result was OK, but not my best work. It was my first (and probably last) attempt. Anyway, I do hope Mariatralha likes it. To soften the disappointment I added a few treats too, Trident gum, chocolate, some stickers (you can't see them as they are inside the book), a handmade birdie and a cute little tin full of buttons and things.

The next swap in this group is 'pink' - I cannot wait as I use sooooo much pink in my creations that I'm going to love this swap. I am also involved in a couple of private swaps with my flickr pals, I will post on them later in June.
Bye for now, I'm off to enjoy the sun with my girlies

New Tooth Monsters

Hi there, phew, I've been a bit pre-occupied recently with the More Than a Mama blog and have neglected my Heartfelt blog for far too long :o( .
So I thought I would come back and show you my latest tooth fairy pillow monsters. They have pocket eyes to place the tooth inside (and the cash too) and are made from felt with fabric on the reverse. Inspired by my 5 year old's wobbly tooth, I am making a set of them for the forthcoming fayre on 12th June, I shall be sewing my littles socks off from now until then, you may not see me for a while, I will be buried under a pile of felt!
See you soon!

Can't contain my excitement any longer!

......well, I've been working on another blog called More Than a Mama and I'm finding it hard to control my excitement! I'm part of a new network of lovely local mums, all of whom run our own businesses, whether it's making and selling or sourcing and selling, the adorable products speak for themselves! There's baby and children's clothes, handmade chocolates, homemade cupcakes and cookies, gorgeous burp cloths, make up, lotions and potions, hand painted ceramics, cards, personalised aprons and towels as well as my own contribution of course with my felty fun. But that's just the More Than a Mama crew.

We are holding a 'Bumps, Babes and Beyond Fayre' on Fri 12th June at the Town Hall in Berkhamsted, 9.30am till 12 noon, where there will be even more wonderful products from other sellers too. Next week I shall be posting a spotlight on each seller on the MTAM blog, can't wait to show you all the yummy goods on offer. Be sure to take a look!

Gifts for Mia

When baby Mia was born on the 21st April I knew I had to make her a special new baby keepsake. I also wanted to make something a little bit different to my usual banners, so here it is, a girlie version of my star banner in baby pink and cream, with a touch of the hubbabubba about it!
Inspired by my eldest daughter's old nursery, it was peony pink with little bubblegum pink stars (the funny thing is, it's still pink and starry but is also my husbands office now - ha ha - will get round to repainting it at some point - he doesn't seem to mind!). I also had a go at making a little card using some yummy fabrics I received in my recent swaps, sewn onto felt. Sending lots of love and best wishes to Vic, Adam and of course baby Mia.

p.s. thank you for naming her Mia, a wonderfully short name, can you imagine how much longer it would have taken me to make her pressie if her name had been any longer!

B is for BRIGHT!

Sometimes I can break out from my girly garland making and create a banner that is truly bright and boyish. Phew, what a release, I will get back to pink shortly but in the meantime, check out these bright babies for Bayley. I hope he likes them.

I'm featured.......

Check out Spearmint Baby , a fabulous blog on baby finds. My name banners have been featured, hurrah! Thank you so much Spearmint Baby!

Starry Hearts

Hi all, I've been going all starry heart-like recently, here is another red, white and blue version. I really love these colours, they work so well together and it may even have inspired me to make something else..... to be revealed another day (when I've got round to it on the inspiration and ideas list!).
Last week was pretty busy as it was my darling Georgie's 3rd birthday, so it was a party 'panic' week. I have lots of great ideas months before the event and then I try and cram in all the organising all on the night before the party! Just like my homework when I was at school! Georgie's favourite colour has always been blue but pink is edging it's way in there too and our Georgie is slowly embracing her more girlie side. I made this blue and pink hearts banner as a little birthday pressie.

Now, in amongst the party preps I also made this pretty pink and white hearts banner for Elina Mae, very pretty in pink.

Finally, I made a couple of sweet pastel heart banners for twin girls. I'm liking these subtle shades together.
Next I will be making a girlie Star banner for my friend's new baby and also, Maddie, has asked me to make her a rainbow version of the hearts banner. I will post details when these have been completed, I will add them to the list!!
More exciting news....... to be revealed soon, but I'm working on another blog along with lots of other new exciting developments, so keep reading!
Have a great week xoxo

Rainy fairs

So, today was the Aldbury May Fair, a wonderful annual event which takes over the whole village (and what a gorgeous village it is). What wasn't so gorgeous today though was the weather, lots of rain and wind and blue lips! It was touch and go at times as to whether the gazebo would stay grounded, but it was fairly well behaved in the end. The gorgeous baby clothes shown here are from www.stealingcandy.co.uk , we didn't put all the clothes out, just one of each, and kept the rest safe and dry under the table. I squeezed some of my creations in too and the response we both had was fantastic. So many people supported this event, especially on a less than beautiful day, well done everyone and thanks so much for coming to visit our stall.

Hearts and stars

I've been busy stitching these new heart and star banners this week and also trying out some more creative photography and styling! I love the colours of these banners, I'm also working on some pastel versions which are sooooo pretty, can't wait to show them to you.
This weekend I shall be at the Aldbury May Fair on Monday, I'm helping my friend Jo (www.stealingcandy.co.uk) out with her stall (whilst squeezing in some of my Heartfelt Handmade goodies too!), I'm praying for some sunshine. Have a great weekend everyone xoxo
