So, what's been happening lately then?

Well, where shall I start? Last friday is as good a place as any! I had a stall at my daughter's school's pamper evening. The evening was a great success. They had transformed the school hall into a beautiful atmospheric retreat! Low lighting, candles, beautifully decorated tables with lovely flowers and clever wallpaper table coverings, a relaxation zone with beautiful rugs and wall hangings from a local store 'sanuk' and many fab stalls. They had lots of therapists there too offering mini-facials, massages, reiki, indian head massage, reflexology, the list goes on. The group of mums that organised it did such a fabulous job and worked real hard. Neviepiecakes had a stall next to me and sold out most of her yummy creations. On my other side I had the lovely Stealing Candy who also did well with their gorgeous super cool baby/kids clothing and toys. BIG smiles all round :o)
Apologies for the blurry photo though, the lights were down low and my photo's taken with the flash just didn't catch the atmosphere at all.

Here is neviepies stall. YUM!

and stealingcandy.co.uk 's stall - how cool are these clothes???!!!!

Spring is in the air

I've been completely rubbish at keeping my blog up-to-date recently. I've been really busy sewing and I am a tad poorly at the moment, but next week I promise to do better AND I will have more details of my next giveaway! I'll keep you posted (I promise!!).

computers and cookies

Hi there. I'm having withdrawal symptoms again! This time I have internet connection but our monitor has died and we are using a spare tv screen instead, which makes for much blurriness! So, I'm unable to upload any pics of my new makes as I can't tell if they are blurry or if it's just our temporary monitor making them so! Instead I would like to bring your attention to an amazing artist. Last week at school my eldest, Maddie, had a dress up day on National (or was it World) Book Day. She chose to dress as one of the ballerinas from a cute book of hers and looked adorable. The wonderful Natasha (aka neviepiecakes ) made special book related cookies for the class and they were incredible. Now, regular readers will know I do mention Natasha quite a bit but this time she even outdid herself, take a look at these cookies, yes these are cookies believe it or not!!!! Amazing work indeed. Thanks Natasha x

Spring Flock

Recently I have been adding to my small but growing fabric collection and I've used some of them here for my new spring birdies.
These will be for sale at a couple of forthcoming events where I shall be having a stall. I shall be making hearts in these fabrics too, so watch this space.....

Will you just look at the goodies that have been arriving at my house this week! I have joined a small swap group on flickr called the Handmade co. and our first swap is a blue swap. You send out an identical or similar packages out to your 2 assigned partners and you receive 2 very lovely yummy packages from 2 other group members. The lovely Mila is hosting this group and is doing a wonderful job of keeping it small and sweet!
Anyway, this first package arrived from Portugal from Rosa and contained some wonderful fabrics, a handmade apron, ribbons, buttons, CHOCOLATE!, a cute Hello Kitty tin (which has been swiped by my 5 year old who has been taking it to school all week kept safely hidden in her pocket!), not to mention the beautiful vintage postcard....such a wonderful parcel, it made me yelp with glee!

Then today I had another lovely parcel arrive, this time from Israel, from Orit . I'm feeling very spoilt! More cute fabrics, lovely vintage buttons, a fab handmade pincushion attached to a new pair of scissors that I really need (I was going to buy some this week!). The felt washing line is now in my utility room, where I do all my washing, I stuck it to a door and I love it!! Thanks to you both Orit & Rosa xoxo

I sent my packages out too......wrapped up little blue parcels to Wendy
and Sandra Sandra and what did I send...........

A little stash each of powder blue polka dot fabric, a sheet of polka dot felt, a small selection of ribbons, buttons, beads and sequins, some gorgeous heart pins and my handmade items, an initial heart for each of them and a flower brooch (not shown). I hope they like them. It's such a lovely group and I'm looking forward to the next swap........greens.....my fave.

more personalised bits'n'bobs

Even without internet this last week I've still had orders to fulfill and pressies to make. Here are the newest garlands and letter hangers from the week just gone. I've made lots of new birdies too with lovely Michael Miller fabrics .... watch this space!

what's going on?

Oh dear, it's been a bit of a bonkers week. My internet access went down for 6 days and I am only just recovering from the withdrawal symptoms. Now I'm just catching up on my online shops, flickr, swaps, orders and life really! It did make me realise how much time I actually waste on the computer though, so I will try and limit my hours from now on, just by designating certain 'work' hours and limiting the 'leisure' hours I spend surfing.

Today I spent the day at The Baby Show in London helping my buddy Jo out at her stand for http://www.stealingcandy.co.uk/ . It was lots of fun and I've never seen so many baby bumps all together in one place! Jo's stand looked great and her wonderful baby/children's clothes and gifts were very popular, they went down a storm so well done Jo, can't wait to go shopping with you for new stock!!! (unfortunately I like everything I see and try and get her to order it all).
